CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ — A 71-year-old woman was fatally injured Friday, May 12, due to a single-vehicle crash off County Road 649 in Commercial Township, reports Daily Voice.
New Jersey State Police said the collision occurred near milepost 3.5 at 3:57 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the woman, of Egg Harbor Township, was driving a VW Passat northbound on the the road when she suffered an unknown medical emergency. The episode caused her to veer past the center line and into a wooded zone, where the car collided with a tree.
First responders rushed the victim to Vineland Inspira Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
No other details have been provided, but an investigation remains ongoing.
