WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A 61-year-old woman was hospitalized Tuesday evening after being hit and run over by her own vehicle in Hackettstown, reports Daily Voice.

According to Hackettstown Police, the incident occurred in the area of Helm’s Mill Road and Dalton Road at about 7:30 p.m.

Authorities said the woman did not realize that her 2014 Lincoln was not in park as she got out of the vehicle. After falling over while exiting, the car rolled over the left side of her body. The vehicle then continued rolling until it struck a 2016 Ford that was parked on Helms Mill Road.

The woman, who suffered injuries considered non-life-threatening, was rushed by first responders to Morristown Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported, but the woman received a summons for possessing an unregistered vehicle.

Independence Township First Aid Squad and Saint Clare’s Paramedics were among the emergency responders assisting at the scene.
