Authorities called to fatal crash on US-9 in east Sayreville

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — Authorities responded to a fatal collision early Tuesday on U.S. Highway 9 in east Sayreville, according to Daily Voice.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes approaching Ernston Road, at around 4:00 a.m.

It remains unclear at this time what caused the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, but Sayreville Police said the route was reopened by 10:00 a.m. after an hours-long closure.

First responders have not confirmed the number of people killed or injured.
