CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ — One person died early Sunday after a fiery single-vehicle collision in Maurice River Township, according to Daily Voice.
The fatal accident happened on the eastbound road near milepost 2.6. New Jersey State troopers arrived on the scene at 3:53 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a Mercedes sedan traveled off the right side of the roadway before colliding with multiple trees. It then re-entered the roadway and crossed over to the left side before rolling over. Officials said the vehicle caught fire and became completely engulfed by flames.
The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased, confirmed NJSP.
No other information has been provided, and no other injuries have been reported.
Authorities continue to investigate.
