Person hit, injured by vehicle on Franklin Ave in Belleville

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — One person was hospitalized Friday evening after a pedestrian collision in northwest Belleville, according to local media.

The incident occurred in the area of 345 Franklin Avenue, near Belleville Plaza, at about 6:20 p.m.

Belleville Police have not disclosed the circumstances of the event, but officers and EMS personnel arrived to find the victim with injuries from being hit by a vehicle.

The patient was transported to Newark’s University Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

No information on the driver has been shared at this time.

An investigation by Belleville Police Department remains underway.
