UNION COUNTY, NJ — A vehicle accident Friday morning blocked a right lane on the New Jersey Turnpike, causing delays in south Elizabeth, according to 511NJ TPK.
The collision occurred on the outer roadway of the northbound turnpike at Interchange 13A to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and U.S. Route 1/9. It was first reported by 511NJ at 10:35 a.m.
Few details have been shared at this time but one right lane out of four total northbound lanes was closed in the immediate aftermath.

By 10:47 a.m., the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened, but officials reported a 2-mile delay in the area.
