SALEM COUNTY, NJ — A 57-year-old Gloucester County man died last Thursday morning after a wreck on U.S. Route 40 in Pilesgrove Township, according to Daily Voice.
The fatal accident happened at the intersection with Pointers Auburn Road (Route 646) on February 2, at about 6:29 a.m.
New Jersey State Police said the man, a Newfield resident, was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Express van westbound. At one point, for reasons still unknown, the van collided with a Toyota Highlander heading northbound on Pointers Auburn Road.
The Newfield man was pronounced deceased on the scene, confirmed NJSP.
The driver of the Highlander, a 45-year-old Quinton resident, suffered serious injuries. No updates on their condition have been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
