MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — One person died late Wednesday after a fiery crash involving an electric car in Morris Township, according to local media.
The fatal accident happened on Southgate Parkway at about 11:17 p.m. Morris Township police, EMS personnel, and firefighters were called to the scene shortly after.
It was unclear what led up to the collision, but first responders arrived to find an electric vehicle engulfed in flames. Fire crews immediately extinguished the flames upon arrival.
One person was found fatally injured inside the car and was pronounced deceased shortly after.
Authorities conducted a search in the nearby wooded area for any victims who were possibly ejected in the wreck, but did not report any other injuries.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office was alerted of the accident, and an investigation remains ongoing.
