BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A woman died Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Lincoln Avenue in southwest Glen Rock, reports Daily Voice.

The fatal incident occurred between Dixie Avenue and Parker Avenue, just south of New Jersey Route 208, shortly after 6:30 a.m.

Authorities said the female pedestrian was crossing Lincoln Avenue when she was hit by a driver in a green or dark-colored Honda CRV. Witnesses said the impact of the crash knocked the victim into the southbound lanes, and clothing was left thrown across the road. The driver, who failed to stop, continued northbound toward Ridgewood with significant damage to the vehicle’s front-end.

First responders rushed the victim to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, where she later died from her injuries.

The Fatal Accident Investigations Unit with Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, along with Glen Rock Police, continue to investigate. A search for the hit-and-run driver remains ongoing.
