Teen dies after injury crash in Bloomfield’s Brookdale Park

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A 16-year-old boy died after a single-vehicle crash late Sunday that injured three others in Bloomfield’s Brookdale Park, according to local media.

The fatal accident took place on the park’s West Circuit Drive. Officials with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau (CSIB) were called to the scene at about 11:30 p.m.

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash, but four Glen Ridge minors were in the vehicle at the time of the collision. All occupants were transported to area hospitals.

Shortly after 12:00 a.m. the morning of January 16, a 16-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Authorities said the male victim was sitting in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle at the time of the wreck.

An investigation remains in progress.
