BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Two men died early Christmas morning after a two-vehicle wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike in Westampton, according to Daily Voice.

New Jersey State Police said the fatal accident occurred on the northbound lanes at about 5:15 a.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the victims, two Bridgeton men aged 28 and 21, were passengers in a car that merged into a lane in which a tractor-trailer was trying to pass them.

Authorities said the move resulted in a crash, and both male passengers in the car died as a result of their injuries.

The driver of the car, a 30-year-old Bridgeton man, suffered serious injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 34, sustained minor injuries.

No other information has been made available at this time, but an investigation was in progress.
