5 left injured after hit-and-run crash in downtown Trenton

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Five people were hospitalized with serious injuries early Sunday after a two-vehicle wreck in downtown Trenton, according to local media.

The collision occurred at the intersection of East State Street and South Stockton Street, near Trenton City Hall. Trenton Police and first responders arrived on the scene at around 2:00 a.m.

Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances of the accident, but multiple victims were ejected when two cars collided. The driver of one vehicle fled the scene on foot moments later.

Five people suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a local hospital.

Police have not yet released any information on the fleeing driver.

An investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.
