1 dead after dirt bike vs. Jeep crash in Aberdeen Township

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A 40-year-old man died Friday evening after their dirt bike collided with a Jeep in Aberdeen Township, according to centraljersey.com.

The fatal accident happened at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Gordon Street. Officials with Aberdeen Township Police Department were called to the scene shortly before 6:00 p.m.

Details remain limited at this time, but officials said the victim was operating a Kawasaki dirt bike at the time it was involved in a wreck with a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 34-year-old man.

The dirt bike rider suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Bayshore Medical Center – Holmdel. Shortly after 6:45 p.m., he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Jeep, who was not seriously hurt, stayed after the crash and cooperated with authorities.

An investigation by the ATPD, along with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Unit and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, remains ongoing.
