UNION COUNTY, NJ — A 67-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident on St. Georges Avenue in Rahway, according to My Central Jersey.
Rahway Police were called to the scene near the intersection with Stanley Place at around 4:31 p.m.
Investigators believe the man was driving a beige Chevrolet Malibu northbound on St. Georges Avenue when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle traveled across the southbound lanes and collided with a tree.
The victim was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway, where he was later pronounced deceased.
A section of Saint Georges Avenue from West Lake Avenue to West Inman Avenue was blocked during the response. By 6:48 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
An investigation by the Rahway Police Department remains underway.
