BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — One person was severely injured Wednesday morning when they fell about 40 feet while in a work capacity near northwest Mahwah, according to Daily Voice.
An AirMed One medical helicopter was called to the scene on North Glasgow Terrace, located between Route 202 and West Ramapo Avenue. The incident was first reported shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Details remain limited at this time, but officials said a tree worker suffered serious injuries in the fall. The victim was airlifted to NJ Crush FC North Field and then flown to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has since been notified of the accident.
According to authorities, the helicopter had been called partly out of concern for major traffic jams created by a car hauler accident on Route 17.
No updates on the patient’s condition have been shared as of this writing.
