MANSFIELD, NJ – A 6-year-old boy was sent to the hospital after he was hit by a horse trailer while he was riding his dirt bike in Mansfield yesterday evening, according to information from NJ.com.
The crash happened on Mount Pleasant Road near Gaunts Bridge Road at about 6:30 p.m., when a 6-year-old boy riding a dirt bike reportedly went into the roadway. The driver of an eastbound truck hauling a horse trailer then swerved to attempt to avoid a collision.
The child was struck by the fender of the trailer and was thrown from his bicycle.
He was treated for undisclosed injuries at the scene, then taken to the hospital.
The child’s current condition was not made public, though he remains alive as of Saturday evening.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
