SADDLE RIVER, NJ – A 19-year-old driver who’d recently committed to playing football at Sacred Heart University was killed in a collision on Route 17 in Saddle River on Friday morning.
According to information from the Daily Voice, the crash happened on southbound Rt. 17 near E Allendale Avenue at about 11:30 a.m., when a black sedan and a tractor-trailer collided.
The driver of the sedan, a 19-year-old graduate of St. Joseph’s Regional High School, was ejected during the collision. He was later pronounced dead.
The victim had committed to playing football at Sacred Heart about two weeks ago.
