Teen injured after falling asleep at the wheel in Parsippany

PARSIPPANY, NJ- An 18-year-old was injured in an accident after falling asleep at the wheel and driving off-road on Monday night, according to local news sources.

At approximately 11:44pm, 18-year-old Michael Hallacy from Tenafly fell asleep at the wheel near 229 New Road in Parsippany, went off-road, and hit a curb. Officials arrived to the scene and found the victim with facial lacerations and a visibly broken leg, but no life-threatening injuries due to the crash. The cause of the accident is assumed to be falling asleep at the wheel, however, open containers of alcohol were found in the vehicle.
